Avid Disease™ is a category Reltronic defines and builds for: conditions that combine high biological velocity with diagnostic complexity. Avidity is the measurement. Avid Disease is the category it identifies.
Most clinical systems are built for conditions that hold still. Avid Disease presentations do not. They move faster than the interval between appointments, and they move while every individual result still reads within range. By the time a threshold is crossed, the window in which the answer would have changed the outcome has usually closed.
The two properties together
High biological velocity
The rate at which a patient’s findings change across encounters. Where velocity is high, the direction of travel carries more information than any single measurement, and waiting for a value to leave its reference range means waiting too long.
Diagnostic complexity
The presentation resembles something commoner. The patient is carried for years under a diagnosis that explains some of the picture and none of the trajectory.
Either property alone is manageable. Together they produce the diagnostic odyssey.
Where it shows up
Avid Disease presentations are not confined to one specialty. They appear in every one. Multiple myeloma, pulmonary arterial hypertension and treatment-resistant depression sit in three different services and behave the same way: fast underneath, ordinary on the surface.
These patients are a small share of any panel and a large share of its cost, its readmissions and its difficulty.
What NeuSymbol does with it
The platform measures velocity across encounters and presents it with every contributing result attached. It does not raise an alarm and it does not assert a diagnosis. It shows the trajectory and the evidence beneath it, and the clinician decides what it means.
Every result is bounded by physiology. The platform cannot produce a trajectory the body could not produce, because that limit is built into the mathematics rather than applied as a filter afterward. It does not invent.
